Life is short. But unfortunately we only have the perspective of the living on this. Maybe if we could get a word or two from the other side on life and living, it would suddenly be much more clear.

The closest thing we have are people's last words. That last perspective reflecting on life and what is important, just before we meet our maker. For instance, Eugene O'Neill reflected just before his death:

"I knew it. I knew it. Born in a hotel room - and God damn it - died in a hotel room."

This is the story of a grandmother who is not going to leave these most important words to chance. Because of course - "Practice makes perfect." Which would be very good last words if someone hadn't said them already.

Maybe you should start working on your last words.
